Outpatient treatment Legionowo

Outpatient treatment means there's no need to stay in a hospital or other treatment facility around the clock. Patients only come for specific tests or procedures, for example, to a specialist clinic.

During your appointment, the specialist will assess your health and recommend a further course of treatment based on diagnostic tests. You'll also learn whether a one-time consultation will suffice or if you'll need specialist care.

You will receive tests, medicines and medical devices free of charge to the extent necessary to provide guaranteed services.

The specialist must inform your family doctor about, among other things, your treatment regimen, the medications you're taking, and your follow-up appointments. You'll also receive a certificate from your specialist detailing your diagnosis and the recommended pharmacotherapy (treatment of illnesses with medication). Based on this, your primary care doctor can issue prescriptions for your treatment.

In most cases, to see a specialist, you need a referral from your primary care physician (or other health insurance doctor).

A referral is not required for:

• gynecologist and obstetrician

• dentist

• venereologist

• oncologist

• psychiatrist

• clinics for people suffering from tuberculosis

• clinics for people infected with HIV

Once you register for a specialist clinic, you must submit your original referral within 14 business days of registration. Failure to do so will result in you being removed from the waiting list.
